Chef Mark Hobart has worked in the culinary field for over 25 years. After graduating from Cass City High School in Michigan’s thumb area, Mark received his Associates of Arts in Hotel/Restaurant with Concentration in Food Management degree from Northwood Institute (University) in Midland, MI in 1989.
Mark started cooking at Zehnder’s Restaurant in Frankenmuth, & the famed 5 Star-Golden Carousel Restaurant in Midland under Chefs John Zehnder (CEC) and Mohammed Elissys (CMC). Mark was a pantry chef under Darren Moore (CMC) and Randy Emerts (CEC) at Pike Street Restaurant in Pontiac, MI.
Chef Mark also served as Corporate Executive Chef for BASF Automotive in Southfield, & held the position of Chef D’ Cuisine & later Executive Chef at The Boathouse On The Lake in Lake Orion. As a member of The Great Lakes Thumb Chapter of the American Culinary Federation, has served as a President & Vice-President. He continues to teach enrichment classes through adult education & competes in competitions.
Chef Mark is currently the cook at Lahser High School in Bloomfield Hills & is a member of Cambridge’s Who’s Who in America 2011, for his contributions as a chef.
